Katy Perry at “The Smurfs” premiere
“The Smurfs” are back in action with a brand new theatrical movie set to hit theaters in less than a week.
In preparation of the film’s release, stars of the family-friendly adventure including Sofia Vergara, Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays and Katy Perry took to the blue carpet for the premiere in New York City on Sunday.
Held at the Ziegfield Theatre, other stars present at the premiere included cast members George Lopez and Hank Azaria, as well as actress Brooke Shields and socialite/designer Olivia Palermo.
As for the film, the Raja Gosnell directed project based on the classic series tells the tale of an evil wizard named Gargamel who chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village.
Due in theaters July 29th, “The Smurfs” also stars Tim Gunn, Madison McKinley, Meg Phillips and Mark Doherty.
Amy Winehouse’s funeral in London
It has been a tough week for family and friends of Amy Winehouse, and earlier today the singer was laid to rest in a private funeral ceremony in North London.
There were three stages of the funeral, including a traditional Jewish ceremony of bereavement (shiva) at a synagogue, cremation, and a gathering at the family home.
Celebrity guests at the funeral included Kelly Osbourne, who wore Amy’s signature beehive hairdo, and Winehouse’s longtime producer friend Mark Ronson.
Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil was denied release from prison to attend – he is serving 32 months.
Amy’s father, Mitch, delivered the eulogy which he ended by saying, “Goodnight my angel. Sleep tight. Mommy and Daddy love you ever so much.” Once concluded, Winehouse’s body was taken to Golders Green crematorium to be cremated as her grandmother was before her.
Lady Gaga & Kim Kardashian tweet about Amy Winehouse’s death
Lady Gaga has taken to her Twitter to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse.
With the message coming today, one day after Miss Winehouse’s body was found at her London home, Gaga wrote, “Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her.”
“She lived jazz, she lived the blues,” Lady Gaga added.

Amy Winehouse found dead in her London home at 27 years old
Amy Winehouse had a lifelong battle with addiction woes, and it is sadly being reported that she has been found dead at the young age of 27 at her home in London, England.
After an evaluation of the scene of death had been completed, Amy Winehouse’s body was removed from her house in Camden Town, London this evening.
Wrapped in a bodybag, the late “Rehab” singer was loaded into an ambulance to be transported to a local medical facility in preparation of an autopsy scheduled to take place tomorrow.
With no signs of foul play, the late 27-year-old Grammy winning artist will undergo the autopsy tomorrow, with speculation understandably pointing towards a drug/alcohol overdose as cause of death.
Since news of Amy’s passing broke, many tributes and well-wishes from other celebrities have flooded Twitter.
Among those commenting on the loss of a true talent was Rihanna, who tweeted, “Dear God have mercy!!! I am SICK about this right now! #DearAmy”

Mila Kunis is red hot in Lanvin at the premiere of her new comedy, Friends with Benefits few days ago at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.
The 27-year-old actress, who was wearing her red dress with Fred Leighton jewelry, was joined on the black carpet by co-star Justin Timberlake.
The “Cry Me a River” stud and the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” starlet were joined by Emma Stone and Irina Shayk as they posed for the paparazzi.
Earlier in the day, Mila wore another red dress while she and Justin, 30, promoted the flick on the Today show.
Hot Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is “The Face of Burberry Body”
Rosie Huntington Whiteley has been unveiled as the face of Burberry’s new women’s fragrance, Burberry Body.
With the perfume due out September 1st, the “Transformers” hottie kicked off her promotional duties by posing in one of the brand’s rose-gold-colored, satin trenchcoats in a sexy shot taken by famed photographer Mario Testino.
Of the new fragrance offering, Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey said, “Burberry Body is the most exciting launch that we have ever created and captures the iconic spirit of the brand today in a striking and sensual way.”
Meanwhile, Rosie told WWD of her new gig, ”It’s a huge honor to be working with Burberry again, a brand that put my career on the map and helped launch me. To be asked to be the first ‘Burberry Body’ is an amazing compliment.”
Kate Middleton’s wedding dress display tour
Kate Middleton got married to Prince William back in April, and now her wedding dress is being displayed at Buckingham Palace.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s ivory and white Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown can be viewed by the public during tours, and is absolutely magnificent.
Kate and Queen Elizabeth toured the exhibit during what was estimated to be a record-breaking season of visitors.
Curator Caroline de Guitaut explained, “Visitors will see what a great example of British couture it is. And how much detail and how much work went into the creation of this dress. The beauty really is in the detail.”
She added, “The sumptuousness of the lace flowers sewn onto the skirt and bodice, the deep vertical pleats that fall gracefully from the waistline to the hem, the train’s elaborate individual panels, which were deliberately engineered to hold their shape as the bride walked the long aisle.”

Despite all the recent malicious rumours, Katy Perry insists that her union with Russell Brand is going very well.
The “Firework” songstress blasted the rumors that there is any trouble in paradise with a post on her Twitter page.
Katy tweeted, “Just cause we don’t flaunt our relationship doesn’t mean there’s something wrong w/ it. Privacy is our luxury.”
False stories of infidelity, having separate lives and the like have been speculations in the news as of late, though Katy confirms they are all bad lies.

The first trailer for “Bel Ami” has hit the web, offering a first look at what can be expected in the upcoming drama.
The Robert Pattinson starring movie is based on the book written by Guy de Maupassant with the film being taken to the big screen by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.
As for the story, “Bel Ami” is “a chronicle of a young man’s rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city’s most influential and wealthy women.”
With Uma Thurman taking the leading female role, the movie also features Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Showing their adorable girl to the world, David and Victoria Beckham offered up first looks at their newborn daughter, Harper Seven Beckham.

Nicole Scherzinger is ready to settle down with the love of her life and she has gotten engaged to marry her Formula One race car driver beau Lewis Hamilton.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer’s dad, Alfonso Valiente, broke the joyous news as he said, “Yes they are engaged. My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down to earth. My family all like him.”
Mr Valiente continued, “He is sincere and he and my daughter seem genuinely happy together. Lewis is a really good guy.”
The wedding proposal comes after the couple have been dating for four years, with the marriage plans falling just as Nicole readies to begin her judge duties on the upcoming FOX show “The X Factor”.

He is a big fan of high profile events, this week Justin Bieber was having a blast at the 2011 ESPN ESPY Awards.
The “Never Say Never” stud was onstage at the Nokia Theatre LA Live with none other than Danica Patrick to present the Dallas Mavericks with the Best Team trophy.
Justin also enjoyed plenty of PDA with his girlfriend Selena Gomez, who was also in attendance at the swanky affair.

Kristen Stewart’s fender bender
Accidents happen — even to Kristen Stewart. The Twilight Saga star was involved in a minor fender bender in Hollywood yesterday.
K-Stew looked a bit upset as she assessed the damage, but handled the situation well by simply exchanging information with the other female driver, smiling and getting on her way!
According to E! News, Kristen pulled over to the side of the road with the other driver and assessed the damage to the rear of her Mini Cooper.
Dressed in jeans and a gray T-shirt, Kristen only looked slightly stressed by the situation.
But both Kristen and the other driver were able to walk away from the accident with a smile and, most importantly, unharmed!
No word as to who was at fault in the accident.
The car smashup comes as Miss Stewart has been keeping herself busy as of late, as she has been taking horse riding lessons for her upcoming role in “Snow White and the Huntsman” while also spending time with her mother working on the script for “K-11″.
Emma Watson: “I’ve been very drunk”
Emma Watson showed up for “The Late Show with David Letterman” last night and during the course of her conversation with Dave, Emma ended up on the topic of alcohol.
The Hermione Granger actress was asked if she knew anything about costar Daniel Radcliffe’s struggle with drinking, to which she replied, “To be honest, it’s really not something that I genuinely know much about and you should, I mean, he is the one to talk about it … He was like the most professional, amazing guy ever.”
Then Letterman turned the focus to Emma- “Do you drink at all? Do you use controlled substances?”
After fumbling a bit, Watson finally confessed, “Yes. Yes I have. I’ve got very, very drunk once in my life. Fine. I got drunk! I have been drunk!”
Victoria & David Beckham welcome baby girl
Getting the daughter she had always hoped for, Victoria Beckham has given birth to a baby girl!
The former Spice Girls singer and husband David Beckham welcomed the bundle of joy at a Los Angeles hospital on Sunday morning.
According to a family rep, the tot weighed in at 7lbs 10ozs, with the little one joining three brothers – as Posh and David are already proud parents of three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
Word of the baby’s impending arrival was the talk of Hollywood on Saturday night when soccer star Beckham attended a BAFTA party thrown for visiting royals, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, alone.
David told Prince William, “Victoria really wanted to come but she is just so tired at the moment. She sent you both lots of love”, to which the royal, who is a close friend of the Beckhams responded, “Don’t be silly, send her all our love and tell her good luck with it all.”
The happy parents proudly announced that their daughter has been doted with the name of Harper Seven Beckham.
Breaking the news via his Facebook page, David giddily wrote, “I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7:55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.”

Putting her baby bump on full display, Carla Bruni spent the weekend holidaying with her French President husband Nicolas Sarkozy in Fort de Bregancon, France.
The expecting 33-year-old was clad in a variety of bikinis on Saturday and Sunday (July 9-10), as she and her politician mate soaked up the sun on the Mediterranean coastal beaches.
According to an onlooker, Miss Bruni and Mr Sarkozy “seemed blissfully happy as they paddled in the sea and cozied up on the sand” during the much-deserved getaway.
As for the couple’s choice in locale, Fort de Bregancon is a small island that serves as the retreat for the President of France.

Katy Perry’s food poisoning postponing concerts
It may be the heart of summer concert season, but Katy Perry’s fans will have to wait to see her perform due to illness.
The “Teenage Dream” songstress announced that she had to postpone her gigs in Chicago and in St. Paul because of “an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration.”
But not all is lost- Katy’s manager has already shared the make-up dates for the concerts- August 21st in Chicago and August 23rd in St. Paul.
Katy herself wrote on her Twitter page to explain- , “Chicago and St. Paul – I’m so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow’s shows. But I’ll be back 8/21 (CHI) and 8/23 (St. Paul)!”
