Amy Winehouse’s funeral in London

It has been a tough week for family and friends of Amy Winehouse, and earlier today the singer was laid to rest in a private funeral ceremony in North London.

There were three stages of the funeral, including a traditional Jewish ceremony of bereavement (shiva) at a synagogue, cremation, and a gathering at the family home.

Celebrity guests at the funeral included Kelly Osbourne, who wore Amy’s signature beehive hairdo, and Winehouse’s longtime producer friend Mark Ronson.

Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil was denied release from prison to attend – he is serving 32 months.

Amy’s father, Mitch, delivered the eulogy which he ended by saying, “Goodnight my angel. Sleep tight. Mommy and Daddy love you ever so much.” Once concluded, Winehouse’s body was taken to Golders Green crematorium to be cremated as her grandmother was before her.
